MEN'S CYCLING JACKET VARMO

Varmo is a men's cycling jacket with an elongated back, characteristic for this type of clothing. It has a structured design, slim fit and a zip up to the collar with a mock turtleneck. The plastic pull tab of the splash-proof zip has a lock that prevents it from accidentally moving, so you can't hear the frustrating continuous clicking sound. We know that you take small things with you when you go cycling, so we made two zipped pockets on the back of the jacket and put them under a flap – but they're slightly diagonal. Thanks to this, you don't have to perform additional gymnastics to put your hand or an item inside and your can quickly put your hand back on the steering wheel. Speaking of safety, we put reflective elements in Varmo, but we chose graphite ones – they provide just as good visibility as their standard counterparts, but they do not stand out and blend well with the black colour of the jacket. They are placed on the sleeve, chest and back (with an inscription).

We spent a long time wondering which materials to use to create a warm and as breathable as possible cycling jacket for men. We chose a three-layer knit: two layers of polyester are complemented by a membrane. The inside of the jacket is covered with a pleasant-to-touch fabric with a slanted weave – thanks to its texture, it does not rub on other clothes, destroy them or make them pill. The silicone tape on the bottom of the jacket prevents it from pulling up – it ensures that your back is always covered. 

This jacket, despite its inconspicuous design, has a lot of design gems to offer. We spent a lot of time taking care of the details. Choosing reflective elements which will work well and at the same time match the jacket turned out to be a big challenge. However, our efforts were compensated by plastic hook-and-loop fasteners – sleeve ribbing – they hold material on the wrist well, without restraining the movements of the hand. We've also decided that since a cycling jacket is one of those clothes that should be as close to the body as possible, we shouldn't put paper tags in it, but rather print them on the material with a soft, undetectable print. We also made sure that the zip does not bend when you're cycling and that it's secured at the neck with a strip to protect against skin pinching. We hope that cycling many miles in the Varmo jacket will be at least as pleasant for you as thinking about how it should perform was for us. Creating it was an incredible challenge, but the fun was even greater.
