Comfort is not only about having good equipment, a comfortable saddle and functional gadgets. Clothes are also important. Autumn and winter are not an easy time to maintain thermal comfort. Some October days may feel like a real winter and in January we can be surprised by spring-like weather. That's why it's important to dress in layers.

Women's cycling jacket Tecno Wind combines old and new, mixing classic, versatile cut and functional technical material. The cycling jacket is made of a membrane with a DWR coating, which provides lasting protection against wind and rain (a feature particularly useful for cycling downhill). This jacket is equipped with a long YKK zip at the front, which can be unzipped quickly, so you can easily put it on and take it off. It supports ventilation when necessary, for example during cycling uphill. The ergonomic design perfectly supports body movements during cycling. The elongated back and high collar help to maintain optimum temperature on cold and rainy days. The cycling jacket can serve as a top layer without increasing the overall weight of the entire outfit. Discreet reflective elements on the front and back of the jacket guarantee visibility. The whole jacket is grey, so it's easy to keep it clean even after cycling through the mud.

The technical material from which the jacket was made has a water-repellent (DWR) coating. The DWR serves as an invisible first line of defence in wet conditions, and if used properly, it causes moisture to accumulate on the fabric surface and its quick wicking. The DWR finish deteriorates over time and will need to be refreshed. A simple way to check the quality of your garment's DWR finish is to spray it lightly with water and check if the water is dripping down or getting absorbed. If the fabric “dries”, it's time to refresh the DWR coating. When it's time to do so, it is recommended to use complementary Nikwax® TX.Direct Wash-In or TX.Direct Spray-On.

Cycling jacket maintenance

1. Secure all zips.

2. Machine wash using warm water (110°F / 40°C), with a high-performance cleaning agent such as Nikwax® Tech Wash.

3. If you decide to use a conventional liquid laundry detergent, we recommend a second rinse to remove any detergent residue from the fabric.

4. Can be tumble dried using the low-temperature setting to refresh the durable water-repellent (DWR) finish.

5. Do not use fabric softeners, bleach or stain removers, and never dry clean.

6. We do not recommend using an iron to refresh the DWR finish, because when the iron's too hot, it can irreparably damage the fabric.
